International shipping company Wan Hai Lines named the new vessel

Recently, Wan Hai Lines held a naming ceremony for its new vessel "Wan Hai A20" at Samsung Heavy Industries' Geoje Shipyard.

The Wan Hai A20 is the last vessel in a series of 13 13,100 TEU container ships that Wan Hai Lines ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries in 2021 and 2022.

After delivery, it will join the company's Asia-South America West Coast service. This series measures 335 meters in length, 51 meters in width and has a draft of 16 meters. It is equipped with a newly designed environmentally friendly engine, which enhances energy efficiency and reduces fuel consumption.

Starting with the Wan Hai A18, the last three vessels of this series have also been equipped with large wind deflector plates at the bow, further saving fuel.

All 13 vessels have been certified as smart ships, making advanced monitoring systems for navigation and equipment performance and real-time data collection possible to ensure safe and reliable maritime operations.

With the completion of this series, Wan Hai Lines' fleet capacity and competitive position have both been strengthened.

Looking ahead, the company plans to deliver another 30 new vessels between 2026 and 2030, further expanding its tonnage and strengthening its market share.

Wan Hai Lines also commemorated this moment by donating to the local charity Sungro Orphanage, supporting its business growth while also contributing to community welfare.
