Qatar Airways × China Southern Airlines: Deepen Cooperation to Expand Flight Scale

Qatar Airways, a member of OneWorld, and China Southern Airlines announced that they will significantly expand their code-sharing partnership and increase the frequency of flights between Doha and Beijing before the Golden Week holiday in China.

This growth builds on the memorandum of understanding signed last year, reinforcing the shared commitment of the two airlines to provide greater connectivity for passengers from China.

Starting from October 16, 2025, Qatar Airways will share the code on three weekly direct flights from Beijing Daxing to Doha operated by China Southern Airlines.

Similarly, China Southern Airlines will add its "CZ" code to 15 destinations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East operated by Qatar Airways outside Doha, including Amman, Athens, Barcelona, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Madrid and Munich.

Since April 2024, Qatar Airways has been using its code on flights operated by China Southern Airlines from Guangzhou to Doha.

In the future, China Southern Airlines also hopes to add the "CZ" logo on the flights of Qatar Airways between Doha and Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou and Shanghai, but it needs to be approved by the Chinese government.

Beijing Daxing Airport is the second gateway for China Southern Airlines to fly directly from Doha to China after Guangzhou.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways and Xiamen Airlines have also launched daily flights from Doha to Daxing, Beijing.

With the increase in flight frequency and the expansion of code-sharing, Qatar Airways and its two strategic partners, China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines, will offer 64 flights per week to seven gateways in China.

Qatar Airways and China Southern Airlines said they will continue to expand their cooperation in other areas, including cargo business and loyalty benefits.
