The Qingdao Huai'an Osaka freight route has officially opened
On March 1, 2025, Shandong Airlines' "Qingdao Huai'an Osaka" international cargo flight officially departed. This route innovatively adopts the "mixed loading mode of all cargo aircraft domestic continuation segment", opening up an efficient and low-cost "air golden corridor" for Sino Japanese trade.
Route characteristics
Innovative mode: For the first time, this route adopts a "mixed loading mode for all cargo aircraft in domestic continuation sections", allowing the same international cargo flight to stop at multiple ports within the country, continuously load export goods from different customs areas, and use a single flight number throughout the entire journey. Compared to the traditional "point-to-point" direct flight model, this innovative model places higher demands on customs supervision, business integration, and information exchange, but also brings significant efficiency improvements.
Efficient Connection: The maiden flight carries 4 tons of cross-border e-commerce goods from Qingdao to Osaka, and after stopping in Huai'an, 11 tons of goods are loaded, achieving a new breakthrough in cross-border logistics with "one aircraft, multiple stations, and efficient connection".
Meaning of flight routes
Promoting trade development: The opening of this route for the first time connects the two major trade hubs of Shandong and Jiangsu with Japan, providing a more convenient and efficient logistics channel for Sino Japanese trade and helping to promote further development of bilateral trade.
Optimizing logistics channels: The opening of this route complies with the requirements of "optimizing international logistics channels" in the State Council's "Opinions on Promoting Stable Scale and Optimal Structure of Foreign Trade", which helps to promote stable scale and optimal structure of foreign trade and improve the convenience of international cargo transportation.
Assisting the local economy: For Huai'an, the opening of this route fills the gap in Japanese freight routes in northern Jiangsu and surrounding areas, and helps attract more enterprises to invest and develop in Huai'an, promoting the rapid development of the local economy.
Airline operation status
To ensure the efficient operation of the new model, Shandong Airlines Cargo Company, together with Qingdao Jiaodong Airport Customs, Huai'an Customs, border inspection departments, and two airports, signed a special cooperation agreement on February 25th, establishing a full chain supervision mechanism of "territory en route port". Through innovations such as "advance declaration+apron direct installation+electronic customs sealing", the goods have achieved "one-time declaration and full customs clearance", avoiding the cumbersome process of repeated customs transfers in the traditional mode.
