Xiamen Port welcomes the Mediterranean Southeast Asian route
At around 13:00 on July 5th, the Cyprus flagged vessel "Mediterranean Manioli 5" successfully docked at Xiamen Haitong Port, marking the official maiden voyage of the Mediterranean Shipping (MSC) SAMBAR Southeast Asia route to Xiamen Port, adding an efficient channel to Xiamen Port's international logistics network.
It is reported that the route is operated by Mediterranean Shipping * *, with six 5000 TEU class ships deployed for weekly berthing, mainly connecting core ports such as Penang in Malaysia, Gudang in Brazil, and Palapas in Tanjung Pelepas. The route relies on direct transportation mode, effectively avoiding the time delay and additional costs caused by secondary transit, further consolidating the economic and trade exchanges between Xiamen and Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam, and providing efficient and intensive sea transportation options for the export of daily necessities, stone, clothing and other goods from Fujian and surrounding areas.
In order to ensure efficient customs clearance operations for the first voyage of ships, Xiamen Dongdu Border Inspection Station has implemented a "one-stop" customs clearance service based on the characteristics of tight port time and heavy operational tasks of ships, compressed non operational waiting time for ships, and achieved "fast in and fast out" of ships, saving operating time costs for shipping companies.
Since the beginning of this year, the Dongdu Border Inspection Station has continuously optimized its measures to facilitate shipping, released the benefits of the "operate as soon as you arrive at the port" policy, and continued to optimize the port's business environment. Data shows that in the first half of this year, there were nearly 7200 inbound and outbound ships and over 140000 employees at Xiamen Port, with year-on-year growth of 3.7% and 3.0% respectively, both reaching new highs in history.
