Maastricht has followed the growth trend of cargo transportation and added new cargo flights to ensure smooth flow
The cargo volume at Maastricht-Aachen Airport (MST) has achieved double-digit growth in the first seven months of this year. With the addition of three new cargo flights per week, the airport is optimistic about further growth.
In the first seven months of 2025, the cargo volume at Dutch airports increased by 15% year-on-year due to a series of charter flights by Atlas Air, the entry of Ethiopian Cargo Company and the return of Turkish cargo company.
Looking ahead, Turkish Cargo Company will add a Boeing 777 flight in September to its existing twin-weekly service, connecting Quito, Bogota, Miami, Istanbul and the Netherlands to transport flowers, vegetables and other goods.
Meanwhile, My Freighter is adding a new, twin-weekly Boeing 767-300 all-cargo service connecting Shanghai, Tashkent, Almaty and the Netherlands. This new service will be available for e-commerce goods, automotive products, general cargo and flowers.
"With the addition of My Freighter and the expansion of Turkish cargo services, we expect this upward trend to continue for the remainder of this year," said Dean Boljuncic, director of commercial development at Maastricht-Aachen Airport.
